Principal
Mrs. Marisol Abrego is the UTRGV-Edinburg CISD Collegiate High Principal. She is a graduate of Shafter High School and attended California State University of Bakersfield where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development. She continued her education and pursued two Master's Degrees, Masters Degree in Education with Special Emphasis in Discipline and a Masters Degree in Education Administration in the University of La Verne. She has been in education for 25 years in different positions. She started as a kindergarten teacher, and taught from elementary to secondary levels. In addition, she has held multiple administrative roles. One of her lifetime accomplishments has been her family, mother of four children, Rigoberto (Mechanical Engineer-UT Pan Am), Julian (Mechanical Engineer-A&M), Jovanna (Mechanical Engineer-UTRGV) and Melissa (Senior at JEHS) and as a proud parent she encouraged her children to complete an university degree, to be assiduous and to always stay humble. As the Principal, she believes that all students can achieve academic success by providing a safe environment, a positive culture, and high academic expectations for all. She believes and promotes a family culture.
